Since the Party Poker failure a few years ago, Poker Stars has emerged as the indisputable leader in absolute numbers of web based poker players. They’ve the biggest tournaments, the most active tables, the biggest money games, and the fastest filling up sit down and go tournaments on line. With that comes power – the power to pick your partners, affiliate marketers, and more to our point; acceptable software.

Long have I been recommending Holdem Hawk and Holdem Pirate (they are actually the same) poker calculators as simple to use and visibly pleasing poker calculators. Recently though, these products have pressed the boundaries of suitable use, at least inside the view of Poker Stars, and consequently have been prohibited from use on that website. This is depressing news, as a good product, not unlike a number of of the suitable software permitted by Stars, is now virtually grounded because the largest poker site on the planet thinks it’s too closely associated to an Operative Poker Calculator.

An Operative Poker Calculator is like a secret agent working for you, collecting and digging through player information that it is possible to use on them at a later time. The thing is, you do not need to be at the table for this to take place. The software program (database) is working all the time for you. For most poker web sites, that’s over the line of fairness, just as in actual life also.

But Holdem Pirate and Holdem Hawk are actually Empirical Poker Calculators, just the same as Holdem Indicator is. These types of poker calculators only collect info on your opponents when you are at the table, just like you were playing in a live situation.

So why the Poker Stars Smack? Here’s an authentic alert I was sent from Poker Stars while running Hold em Pirate:

Upon an evaluation of your account, we come across that you might be running an external program identifiedas Poker Sherlock, or its associated programs, Poker Edge, PokerBotPro, Hold em Hawk and Hold em Pirate……PokerStars shall be entitled to take such action as it sees fit, such as immediately preventing access to the Games to such User, closing such User’s account with PokerStars and confiscating all money held in the relevant Poker Stars "actual money account".

Hey, did you notice the "confiscating all monies" line? That’s what it is possible to do when you are this massive!

The "related applications" is the source of the issue. The company that created Hawk and Pirate also generate Poker Edge and PokerBotPro, which are data miners. Actually, I believe that Stars thinks Hawk and Pirate truly mine data for these related programs, whilst looking like an Empirical Poker Calculator on the surface.

So therein sits the crux of the issue. Should you happen to wager on on Stars and have Hawk or Pirate, you are out of luck, as I have tried to change this ruling. I got a considerate response from the employees at Poker Stars, except genuinely, it’s not likely to alter. The excellent news though is that Hold em Indicator has been added to Poker Stars appropriate computer software list, and it is the only empirical calculator to be approved by them.
