Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While playing web poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I believe Hansen is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.
Buying in for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players in the world might just be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
