Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the closing game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the min takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world might be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be found playing online poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in cash games?
