Texas Hold’em is simply about gamblers and position. All experienced Texas Hold’em enthusiasts agree that seating in no limit Texas Holdem is fundamentally important. Showing your hole cards in last spot will be much more profitable than in early poker position. This is due to the fact that much more information is gathered prior to acting.

As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit money match at a local spot. I limped in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, just to partake in some action. Flop came down A-A-4. A gambler in starting position laid a fifteen dollar wager. Two entrants drop out and it was now my turn to act. I should have folded, but his game play seemed a tiny bit off. I read this contender as a weak-tight player, and typically if he held the best hand he would just check, so I called.

The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My challenger placed an additional bet of $20. I hesitated for a while, but decided to re-raise an additional $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He folds and I won the pot.

Playing late spot allows you an idea where you stand by watching how enthusiasts react and wager. On the flip side, people at early spot may use their poker position to check-raise the last seated antagonists and corner them afterwords at the end. In Holdem, both spots, late and early must be bet cautiously.
