Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the last table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While playing online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best players anywhere in the world might be players you have never heard of. Gus can be found playing net poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
