Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the final poker table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players around the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen more often than not buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.
Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be players you have never heard about. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash games?
