Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While playing internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy in.
Buying in for the minimum takes most of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I think tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The best poker players in the world could be players you have never heard of. Gus can be seen betting on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in big stakes omaha/8 and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
