Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best players around the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world may be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha/8 and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
